AC Receptacle with Isolated Ground
If you plug your power amp or power conditioner directly into the wall outlet, the VooDoo Hubbell IG 8300 is the best receptacle you can install. Here's why: Most "audio grade" AC receptacles do not have an isolated ground circuit, They are not made with highly conductive phosphor bronze contacts, and they have not been cryogenically treated, which are all significant shortcomings for any audio AC outlet. Other hospital-grade receptacles offer a margin of safety from electric shock in the event of a short circuit. But the ground network in those receptacles serves as an antenna for radio frequency interference (RFI) and conductor of electro-magnetic interference (EMI) in the ground circuit. Both RFI and EMI transmit electrical noise in the form of transient signals. Sensitive audio and video equipment can pick up these transient signals and amplify them to even greater levels of distortion that inhibit and denegrate the performance of your entire audio/video system.
